DOPSIS (Digital Optical Saw Inspection System)

THE NEW CUTTING EDGE IN THE SHARPENING INDUSTRY…DOPSIS

We at Saw & Specialty Corporation have enhanced the science of precision saw sharpening by developing the capabilities to inspect accuracy to the thousandth of a millimeter. Never has the industrial saw sharpening sector been so advanced with DOPSIS’s new technology to virtually eliminate sharpening inaccuracies and inconsistencies. Saw & Specialty’s Digital Optical Inspection System (DOPSIS) has the ability to pinpoint issues and potential problems with blades that few saw services will be able to match. The DOPSIS advantage to our customer means improvement on blade life and smoother cutting capabilities.

Saw & Specialty is the ultimate sawing center. We service the Non-ferrous, Steel, Wood, Foam, Corrugated Cardboard, and Plastic industries. We’ve been developing and perfecting the saw sharpening process for over 80 years. From blade and machinery to sharpening and service, Saw & Specialty Corporation is your single source for all of your sawing needs.

The Saw & Specialty Sharpening Process:

•  Blades are put through an ultrasonic chemical bath to remove excess debris and grit from the teeth of the blade.

•  The blade is then polished so that we can detect any potential problems in the body of the blade.

•  The blades are then physically inspected for missing teeth, chips, balance issues, and other blade damage.

•  First time blades are then engraved with a unique tracking number for identification and record keeping purposes. This will develop a “history” for each blade in our record system. Sharpening and any type of repair are specifically noted for each blade by using this identification.

•  Blades are then ground with our Automatic CNC Machinery. Sharpening quality is ensured by calibrating our grinding machinery using the advanced DOPSIS system.

•  Blades are then spot-checked on the DOPSIS system and all blades are physically inspected once again.

•  Upon completion of the blade grind and possible repairs, the teeth of the blade are covered with an easily removed protective plastic strip.
